Best Seats in the House

THE CAUSE
At Overflow 2010, the offering focus will again be for the Life: Just Add Water Campaign lifecampaign.org. Last year we raised over $33000 for this endeavour, with just a portion of the groups present at Overflow participating. The great news about Life is that all the original goals from the campaign have been met: all the targeted wells have been built or are in the process of being built. However, the Just Add Water campaign is going to continue into 2010 because more need has risen, and there is currently a waiting list for wells to be built around the world!

THE GOAL
For Overflow 2010, our goal is to raise $50,000 (collected during the Saturday evening service). We are hoping to not only raise the bar of giving amongst our youth, but also again support a worthy cause that’s making a difference. With the average well cost being around $8000 - $10000, we could easily change five villages around the world!

THE CONTEST
Win the “best seats in the house”! The group that raises the most money for this offering focus (per capita) will win. Beginning in JANUARY, we are encouraging groups to raise money for Life by taking up weekly offerings and running fundraisers. If you are short on fundraising ideas check out the Life website lifecampaign.org. Your group will be pitted against every other group present at the event and the group that raises the most amount of money (per capita) will win.

THE PROCESS
At Overflow 2010, groups will be given a special group offering envelope in their registration package. The youth pastor / leader will fill in the group’s information, including the average size of your youth ministry and the total amount given. Groups must submit one cheque in the envelope, payable to “YOUTH MINISTRIES” with the total amount raised for the offering. We will not be able to accept the money in cash form. This envelope must be placed in the offering collected on Saturday evening (General Session III).

PLEASE NOTE: Money that has been raised but not brought to the event in cheque form will not be considered for the contest (though we will gladly forward it to the campaign).

THE PRIZE
Best Seats in the House… The winning group will have reserved seats for General Session IV (Sunday morning): the best seats in the house. They will be profiled in the service on camera and receive fun prizes. Results will be posted on the Overflow website, and we will send the winning group the video footage from Overflow that commemorates their accomplishment. We will also have special tokens of appreciation for the second and third runners up!
